Writing Organizations

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) believes in the transformational power of creativity. The organization provides the structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds—on and off the page. NaNoWriMo is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.

Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to supporting, encouraging, and educating writers seeking publication in commercial fiction.

Western Colorado Writer’s Forum focuses on programs to support the artistic development of writers, connecting the Western Slope’s fragmented writing community, and bringing  writing mentors into the schools.
